Our story
Let us take you back to 2017...
The planets aligned when we - four bold, fearless women - found ourselves in the same in-house marketing team. We quickly realised we had something special. Something magical.
Together, we whipped up some seriously amazing (and award-winning!) work, with a vibe smoother than a jazz record.
We often joked about starting an agency, and spoiler alert: that dream didn't fade away!
Now, fast forward to 2024.
We went down our separate paths, but our connection never dimmed. And one sunny afternoon, fuelled by snacks at Renae's dining table, we finally took the plunge - and Smooth Cactus was born!

Nadia's a Marketing maestro with a treasure trove of experience working with iconic brands like MTV, IBM, Dymocks, Jim Beam, and many more.

She's got a tonne of experience in leadership roles in the not-for profit and purpose-led space. And was the secret ingredient in the birth of a new brand in Australia's disability support sector.
Equally comfortable crafting a killer marketing strategy as she is diving into the creative pool, she brings versatility and a sharp eye - seriously sharp - for detail.
At home, you can find Nadia wrangling two whirlwinds, belting out show tunes, or proudly embracing her inner nerd.

Before ruling the Marketing world, Renae honed skills in a variety of roles, including an EA at PwC and an admin assistant at a London recruitment agency.
With a unique blend of strategy, creativity, and a touch of sass, Renae makes the Marketing world a bit brighter - and a lot more fun!
At home, when she's not out enjoying her latest running adventure or savouring a delightful glass of wine, you can find her chasing after her two endlessly curious boys.
Claudia Romero
Claudia's a passionate storyteller, and a PR and Communications guru. She had dreams of becoming an investigative journalist, until she went to uni and became fascinated with the world of marketing.

With agency experience working with Sekisui House, Stockland, Corban & Blair, Purina, and GSK, Claudia gets what makes people and companies tick. In-house, she's worked with government and NFPs, leading Marketing, Communications, and Fundraising teams.
Known for her strategic mindset, Claudia zeroes in on clients' needs, crafting plans that deliver.
At home, she's a proud plant lady, enjoys her son's eclectic music tastes, and loves repurposing discarded homewares into treasures.

With 14 years of experience, Anna has worked freelance and in-house on Marketing, Communications and Branding across diverse industries like disability, education, and retail.
Anna believes in the power of design that moves people. She's big on asking "why" because great design resonates on more than just a visual level.
Creativity has always been her calling, whether through DIY and craft, selling handmade jewellery, or graphic design.
At home, she's a proud mum to two cheeky rescue cats and a tween who shares the creative streak.
